Acorns Offers Easy Investment Options For Beginners

If you’re looking for easy investment options and you’re a beginner investor, Acorns may be the perfect solution for you.

You know that you should be saving for your future. The problem is you just don’t know where to start.  With so many investment options available it can be hard to decide which way to go with your money.

It gets even more overwhelming if you live on a tight budget or paycheck-to-paycheck.  You may even think you can’t afford to invest.

If those scenarios sound familiar, Acorns is the perfect solution to get started with investments.

What is Acorns?

Acorns is a mobile app created specifically for new investors who want to dabble in the stock market.

What makes Acorns unique is that you don’t need a large chunk of cash to get started.  In fact, you can get started by simply investing your spare change.

How does Acorns work?

Acorns automatically invests your spare change (if you opt-in) and lets you invest as little as $5.

First, you’ll link your debit and credit cards to Acorns.  Then, anytime you make a purchase with a linked card, Acorns will round up the purchase to the nearest dollar.  Once your round ups equal $5, it will be put into a portfolio of ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds).

Your investments are then diversified across more than 7,000 stocks and bonds, and Acorns automatically rebalances your portfolio to stay in its target allocation.

So, if you make a purchase for $10.62, Acorns will take $0.38 and add it to your account.  Once you’ve saved $5 in roundups, it’s transferred to your portfolio.

Easy Investing Options For Beginners

When you sign up, you’ll be asked a set of questions to gain perspective on your unique situation.  Based on your answers, you can choose from five different portfolio options and choose one that matches your investment goals.

You also have the option to contribute to an IRA (Individual Retirement Arrangements) by setting up a recurring deposit every month.  This amount can be any amount over $5, and will be deducted from your primary checking account monthly.

What Are The Benefits Of Using Acorns?

Acorns has several benefits that make them a great choice for easy investing.

Acorns does require a subscription, which you can pause or cancel at any time.  There are three subscription tiers to choose from with great benefits.

  1. Acorns Personal/$3 a month – This tier includes:
    1. Purchase Round Ups
    2. IRA – Optional
    3. Free Checking Account
  2. Acorns Personal Plus/$5 a month – Everything in Personal, plus:
    1. Premium Education
    2. Emergency Fund
    3. Earn Rewards Match (eligible for an extra 25% match on bonus investments you earn up to $200.)
  • Acorns Premium/$9 a month – Everything in Personal Plus, plus:
    1. Benefits Hub
    2. Custom Portfolio
    3. Early (retirement account for your children)
    4. Earn Rewards Match (eligible for an extra 50% match on bonus investments you earn up to $200.)

Acorns Free Checking Account

The checking account is one of the best options of Acorns, in my opinion.  There are no fees and the debit card automatically earns, saves, and invests for you!

Each month you’ll earn a 10% investment deposit on purchases made throughout the month with your Acorns checking account.

Acorns Chrome Extension

Acorns has also partnered with over 12,000 merchants worldwide.  If you download the browser extension, whenever you purchase from one of the participating merchants, they will add to your investment account.

This is just another way that Acorns provides easy investment options for beginners.

Is It Worth Investing In Acorns?

Yes, for individuals wishing to begin investing with just a few dollars, Acorns is a simple and practical choice.

Despite the costs, the app’s advantages make it worthwhile for beginners on a tight budget to take into account. You can set up an investment portfolio quickly and work toward your financial objectives with Acorns.

For novice investors or those without the time to research the stock market, Acorns is  an ideal choice. It’s a fantastic option for young people to save and invest money passively, especially for those without having a 401(k) or retirement account.

Are you ready to get started investing with Acorns?
